GET TO KNOW ME

I have worked in education since 1985. Initially as a secondary teacher in the Key Learning Area of Technical and Applied Studies. As an educator, I have always held a keen interest in psychology, student wellbeing and counselling. My transition into careers counselling began with post graduate studies in 2009, leading to part time work in 2010 followed by full time work in this field. I have worked in the schools sector, as a practitioner in a consultancy and in private practice.
How Do I Work?
Working in careers and career education has allowed me to bring together interests in career counselling, teaching and learning, and pastoral care. I feel my professional and friendly counselling style assists young people to feel valued, comfortable and engaged in their quest for greater self knowledge and future possibilities.

Qualifications and Professional Activities
I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in Careers Counselling and Development from RMIT. I have additional qualifications in technology education, career development and counselling. Through university block placements, I have assisted final year psychology students to understand the work of a careers counsellor and how to engage with young people in this field (Macquarie University). This involvement has allowed for the making of excellent psychologist and careers practioner relationships, supporting our individual work. I am a professional member of the CDAA, CAA NSW. I hold Morrisby Career profiling accreditation and Career Avenues Profiling accreditation. I also hold Majors (MBTI) PTI accrediation.
